What are you grateful for?

As Thanksgiving and Christmas are fast approaching I have a tendency to get all sentimental. This Thanksgiving and Christmas will be our first year in Texas with no family close by. And that is okay because I have met amazing women in Celina Ladies & Friends that have embraced my family.

Besides my family, which I am grateful for, I am truly grateful for my girlfriends. If I need to get out of the house I now have women to call that will get me out of the house. They push me out of my comfort zone and make me a kinder person, better listener, and better friend. Overall the friends I have made are improving my health and mood.

According to a recent study by the University of Oxford, spending time with friends twice a week increases generosity levels, decreases anxiety, and faster recovery times due to illness as it boost immune systems. As awesome as all those benefits sound it turns out that we as women do not usually see our friends even once a week, especially if we have children! The study noted only 2 out of 5 women go out once a week. I don't know about you, but I am going to make more time for my friends. Come on ladies, we need to get those endorphins flowing!

So while I got side tracked here on the study, the whole point of this post was to say Thank you Celina Ladies and Friends. I am so grateful for this group for introducing me to ladies that enrich my life, have become aunts to my kids, and provide laughs and shoulders if ever needed.

What are you grateful for?
