North Texas Giving Day and Volunteering

Mark your calendars for September 19th! That is the day for North Texas Giving Day. This was started in 2009 by the Communities Foundation of Texas to build awareness and support for local nonprofits. If you go to their website, https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/about , you can search for nonprofits by the causes you would like to support and then choose which will receive your online donation. Last year they were able to raise $48 million that helped fund nonprofits in the North Texas area.

Nonprofits do need the monetary donation but if that is something that does not work there are other ways to help out! Volunteer. We have many places in our local area that needs volunteers. Call the senior center, help out Grace bridge, local churches, and animal rescues are always looking for foster families. Celina Ladies and Friends occasionally does need volunteers for our community service projects. If you are interested in volunteering at one of our events please email, celinaladiescommunity@gmail.com

Don't have time to volunteer? Share! Sharing the information with your friends or community helps. Little nonprofits always appreciate being shared in this manner. It does make a difference.

Other ideas; Start a food drive in your neighborhood or a coat drive now that the weather (hopefully soon) is cooling down. Check in with neighbors, especially those with small children and seniors. They may love some company. First responders are always in need of water bottles so maybe start a water bottle drive for our local fire and police departments.

Do you have a suggestion or need that Celina Ladies and Friends may participate in? Send those in to us! We love our community.
